The Routt County Board of County Commissioners is selling various surplus items. Below is more information on the process, dates and information on the items.

Surplus items be available for viewing and inspection on Monday, 10/16 through Friday, 10/20/2017 at the Sheriff's Office/Jail parking lot at 2025 Shield Drive, Steamboat Springs. Please note vehicles will be locked at this time.
On October 19th, from 1 to 4 p.m. - staff will be on-site for vehicle inspection, inside and out, started up, but not driven.

  • All bids must be received prior to the advertised time of bid opening. A late bid will not be accepted.
  • All items must be picked up by the winning bidder by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday 10/25/17.
  • Bidder does not have to be present at the bid opening to win.
  • No items will be sold outside of the bid process.
  • All items are sold “AS IS – WHERE IS” with no warranty expressed or implied.
  • County and City employees, dealers, and the general public may participate in the surplus sale and are subject to the same rules.
  • Any qualifications on bid sheet will disqualify bidder.
  • Bidder must bid at least the minimum bid shown.
  • Bidder completely fills out form and places one form in envelope, seals envelope, writes item number on outside of sealed envelope.
  • A bidder may bid on as many items as they wish, but are limited to one bid per item per person.
  • One bid per envelope.
  • High bidder wins the item.
  • After bid opening the winning bidder is notified by the Purchasing Agent.
  • The winning bidder has the option to decline the item if he wishes.
  • Winning bidder must confirm intent to take item by NOON, Monday 10/23/17 or Routt County will proceed to the next highest bidder.
  • Winning bidder remits payment with cash or certified check made out to Routt County Treasurer’s Office and obtains receipt.
  • In the event of a tie bid, a coin will be flipped to determine the winner.
  • Winning bidder brings receipt to Road and Bridge Office where they are given the title and keys to the vehicle. The County issues only a bill of sale for the sale of abandoned/confiscated vehicles. Buyers must apply for title with the State of Colorado, who may issue or refuse title. Title is not guaranteed on any abandoned/confiscated vehicle.

  • When are bids due?

    All bids must be received at the County Commissioners office, 3rd Floor, 522 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs by NOON on Friday, October 20, 2017

    Routt County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in bids received, and to accept any portion of the bid whichever is deemed to be in the best interest of Routt County.
