Unincorporated Routt County Permitting Process

Routt County Regional Building Department Provides the Following Services

Routt County Regional Building Department provides Building Department services for all Unincorporated areas of Routt County. All Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Demolition, Solar, Sign, Swimming, Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Permits shall be submitted to the Routt County Regional Building Department for review.

CODE ENFORCEMENT/COMPLIANT WORK: Routt County Regional Building Department provides code enforcement services for Routt County Unincorporated areas for all Residential and Commercial Buildings. Code Enforcement duties including investigation of work being performed without permits when required, and Dangerous or Unsafe Buildings, Structures, or Equipment associated with buildings. 

NOTE: The Building Department does not accept nor process complaints related to Planning and Zoning Regulations, Property Maintenance, Rental Property, or Vacation Rental Property Complaints, nor do we process complaints for Public Works, Environmental Health, or Engineering Departments. 

Code Enforcement complaints can be accepted by phone, in-person, or by submitting your request by email. The below Complaint/Investigation form can be filled out and submitted directly to Building@co.routt.co.us
