Routt County contracts with Northwest Colorado Health to provide public health services. Public health focuses on the health of the entire community versus individual patients. It also provides essential services such as immunizations and birth and death certificates and programs to prevent diseases and injury while promoting wellness in residents of all ages. All programs are available to anyone who needs them, regardless of ability to pay.
Specially trained public health staff include registered nurses, community health educators and an emergency preparedness and response coordinator. Public health also works with other local organizations to ensure people in Routt County can realize their full health potential.
