Regulations
The Routt County Zoning and Subdivision Regulations regulate the use, development, and subdivision of land within unincorporated Routt County, and they are important tools for implementation of Master Plan goals and policies. Planning staff maintains, updates, and administers these regulations.

Fee-In-Lieu Payments
(updated 8/10/20)Colorado Revised Statute (C.R.S.) 29-20-104.5 (5) provides that "Any impact fee or other similar development charge shall be collected and accounted for in accordance with." Colorado Revised Statute 29-1-803 states that, "At least once annually, the local government shall publish on its official web site, if any, in a clear, concise, and user-friendly format information detailing the allocation by dollar amount of each land development charge collected to an account or among accounts, the average annual interest rate on each account, and the total amount disbursed from each account, during the local government's most recent fiscal year."
This information can be accessed by clicking here. In 2019, a total of $212,003 was distributed to local school districts. The amounts each school district received is:
RE-1 (West Routt) - $6,514
RE-2 (Steamboat Springs) - $182,162
RE-3 (South Routt) - $23,327
This money earns interest annually and during the 2019 fiscal year, the rate that this account earned was .21%. At the end of fiscal year 2019, there was a balance remaining of $2,85.90.
