Temporary Road Closure of CR 18
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO, April 6, 2022 – Routt County Commissioners passed a resolution authorizing the temporary road closure of approximately two miles of CR 18 from the cattle guard below the dam to the gate at Pleasant Valley to all traffic beginning April 5, 2022.
The seasonal closure of roads minimizes damage and save resources needed to maintain other roads that remain open during the transition season. Typically the County implements seasonal closures on CR 18. CR 18 is snowed in during the winter. Based on current thaw conditions and increasing traffic potential the road was closed April 5. The road will continue to be monitored and will be closed for a period no longer than 90 days. Implementing the restriction discourages recreational use and will minimize traffic at a time when the road is vulnerable to damage.
Dust Suppression- Crews will be starting the Dust Suppression project Monday, May 23, 2022 Weather permitting. The crews will start on CR 78 and doing CR 78A, CR 76, CR 74A, CR76A.
